On November 20th, 2023, the Borough of Wyomissing and Burkey Construction held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new, pre-engineered steel building located in Wyomissing, PA. Designed by Olsen Design Group and McCarthy Engineering, this structure will serve as a new garage and work area for the Public Works Department.

In addition to the new build, this project consists of a 1,000 square-foot renovation to existing office space, the replacement of the borough’s salt shed, and the addition of much-needed parking for Borough employees.

As the Construction Manager on this project, Burkey is responsible for ensuring proper coordination between the four prime contractors, as well as guiding all communications between contractors, design team, and owner.

The facility is expected to reach substantial completion in December 2024.
