Project Overview
Abilities in Motion (AIM) acquired a 30,000 square-foot building that had been vacant for some time with the intention of significantly increasing their operational capacity. Burkey was brought on to complete an interior renovation covering 24,000 square feet of the space.
The first phase of the project was a significant interior gut, allowing for the changes needed to achieve the desired floorplan. The new space has 16 individual offices, a large collaboration area with multiple work stations, and support spaces for AIM's staff. Every aspect of this project has ADA accessibility accommodations: larger hallways, pull-down cabinets, and chair lifts, to name a few.
The project scope also included exterior work, including lot overlay and painting, ADA sidewalk and entrance ramps, and new rooftop units for the HVAC system.
