Project Overview

This renovation project transformed an existing movie theater and off-track betting facility into a new, high-tech service center to carry on the Penske Racing image. The first CarShop building constructed after Penske purchased the dealership, this location has been introduced as the prototype for all future CarShop Auto Sales and Service facilities.

The various slopes of the flooring within the building proved to be the biggest challenge to the Burkey team, as the new floor slab needed to withstand the combined weight of cars driving over it and the lifts needed by the mechanical team. This issue was resolved through collaboration and planning between the project and design teams, with significant input from the owner.
