Project Overview

This comprehensive project allows the park and building to function together, seamlessly providing space indoors and out for visitors to play, learn, explore, and grow. This project achieved LEED Gold Certification, with more than one-third of the structure being built with reclaimed and recycled materials. The building utilizes wind power and features bird-strike reduction glass, rain gardens, and a daylight sensor to reduce ene rgy usage.

Mostly geared towards education, the first floor features a lobby space complete with exhibits and multiple classroom spaces that open to an outdoor deck overlooking the wetlands. The second level contains office space and conference rooms with panoramic views.

Outdoor elements, including an outdoor classroom and nature playground, were integrated into the project, further connecting the visitor with the surrounding environment.

“We appreciated the success of the design-build process and the product we got through working with your team and GWWO. You assigned an impressive team to our project and I am very grateful for the many years of work that you all have put into the Nature Place. You should be so proud of how your team represented your company – thank you for all your work on the project.”
