On March 6, 2026, Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading celebrated the groundbreaking of the facility rehabilitation of their Walnut and Mulberry Street locations. The project consists of a complete gut and renovation of both buildings, the work encompassing approximately 34,500 square feet.
Both locations have been closed for multiple years, with Olivet utilizing Reading School District’s 10th and Green and Lauer’s Park elementary schools to continue club services. Through federal and state grant assistance, the revitalization of these buildings will bring Olivet’s impactful programs back to the neighborhoods of hundreds of children.
Burkey is partnering with Muhlenberg Greene Architects and Entech Engineering on this project.
