Project Overview

This adaptive reuse project saw a 100-year-old building transformed into a multi-faceted training facility. Because multiple tenants would be using the space, coordination and communication amongst all team members were crucial to ensure that specific needs for the building were met. The finished building boasts a unique MEP system, designed to fit in a condensed space to allow for the high ceilings needed by cheerleaders using the facility, and customized exercise areas supporting everything from strength training to outdoor crossfit.

It was important to the owner that the building retained as much of its historical architecture as possible throughout the renovation. To accomplish this, Burkey's team added structural steel that matched existing building elements to support the existing walls and sealed the original brick to prevent any future crumbling. The warehouse's original tow lift was also preserved, with added modifications to ensure the safety of the building's occupants.

“I commend your Custom Services team on their professionalism and ability to consistently provide superior service. I have never been more pleased with your contractors coming to our facility. Each person I meet from your team has always surpassed all of my expectations and I would highly recommend your services to anyone in need.”
